IEEE 802.11ax is a wireless standard specification designed to boost the performance capabilities of LANs. Gupta left Intel and joined Microsoft in January 2020. Intel says he took two full USB drives with intel from the company. He then plugged one drive into a laptop provided by Microsoft and downloaded the information. When Microsoft became aware of the situation, it informed Intel and is now helping the company with its lawsuit. Legal documents show Gupta discarded the second USB drive. DirectReality is an “online computer software for holographic applications,” according to Microsoft. The trademark follows Microsoft trademarking an S logo earlier in the week. It is unclear whether the logo and DirectReality are connected. It seems as though the Direct Reality will further Microsoft’s exploration into mixed reality. Considering it could be discussed at E3, it is likely to be related to gaming. It is worth noting that the branding will almost certainly be DirectReality as Microsoft has filed a single word trademark....

While LinkedIn will continue to remove the AI-generated bots both algorithmically and manually, the new features will help users know if they are on a legitimate profile. A simple and obvious feature that hasn’t been available until now is a profile creation date. This means users can see when a LinkedIn profile was created. While it is not foolproof, it does provide a way to see if a profile was created recently (more likely to be a bot) or has been up for longer....

In a note on its website, Microsoft admitted a notice was sent prompting users to update. The company says it sent a notice to the wrong Windows users. Originally, the notice was meant for users of Windows 10 builds that are soon to be unsupported. During Epic Games v. Apple, a legal battle over revenue frameworks on the iOS App Store, Microsoft has been dragged into the battle. The company’s VP of Xbox business development, Lori Wright, took the stand this week. When asked a rather simple question – have Xbox consoles ever made a profit – Lori was forced to reveal something Microsoft never talks about. Her answer was simple enough… “No”. On its release, the ARM-based Lenovo YOGA C630 came with the Windows 10 April 2018 update and a Snapdragon 850. The decision from Lenovo came after a number of critical bugs delayed Windows 10 1809, including a file deletion issue. At the time, Microsoft’s support documentation noted that only the Windows 10 1809 supported that processor, suggesting possible compatibility or performance issues. Microsoft has now confirmed rumors that will change. The company has announced an October 16 event with the title ‘Back to Black’. It also references the 2012 launch of the Surface RT, making the option pretty much a sure thing. According to reports last month, the first black devices to debut will be a Surface Book 2 and Surface Pro 6. However, it stands to reason that Microsoft will offer this option on a number of devices going forward, including any surprises it might have....

Users will soon be able to have a verified icon for their business on Outlook.com. This is similar to Twitter and Facebook and will show others that your business is legitimate and not a copy. In terms of Outlook, the feature will be handy for identifying fraudulent emails. Another business feature coming to the service are Business Profiles. If you are unfamiliar with Boot Camp, it is an Apple software that runs Mac machines into multi-boot devices. By leveraging Boot Camp, users are able to run Windows 10 on an Apple device. However, it seems Windows 10 May 2019 Update and older Boot Camp builds are not jiving well. Microsoft says the update is causing issues with Windows 10 1093 on Mac devices from before 2012 and those running old versions of Apple Boot Camp....

Exceeding Expectations Meanwhile, Microsoft’s fiscal first-quarter results broke its records. Revenue totaled $29.1 billion over the last three months, an increase of 19 percent year-on-year. Net income reached $8.8 billion over the last period, an increase of 34 percent compared to the same timeframe last year. Analysts predicted revenue of $27.9 billion, so it blasted those predictions out of the water. Again, Microsoft saw a large growth in its cloud business, while Surface, Xbox, and Windows OEM Pro also saw increases....

These are fairly significant additions to the Microsoft Bot Framework. At the conference on day one, the company revealed Adaptive Cards support for multiple apps. Some of them are Microsoft’s own important services, such as Skype, Cortana, Bing, and Microsoft Teams. Other new Adaptive Cards include Notifications and rival platforms iOS and Android.
