At the moment, Cortana in Microsoft To-Do is being rolled out to a limited number of Windows Insiders. The company says, “use Cortana to add reminders and lists in Microsoft To-Do so that you can save time, stay organized, and keep all your reminders and lists in one place.” Since acquiring and shuttering Wunderlist, Microsoft has been trying to merge its features into To-Do. The company has admitted the process was not easy, but progress has been rapid in 2018. Numerous new features have been added to the app and Cortana helps To-Do reach more feature parity with Wunderlist. As mentioned, the integration is currently only available as a closed preview on the Insider Program. We guess the feature will makes its way through Insider branches before launching to general users over the next few weeks and months.

Recent Update

Earlier this week, Microsoft issued a full update for To-Do, including some tweaks to the Planned smart list:

If you found that your Planned smart list seemed a bit out of sorts, we apologize for the confusion. We’ve got it all, well, sorted with this update. Use theme colors to keep your lists organized? Then you’ll be happy to know that you can now add themes to your Planned smart list. We’ve also added the option to automatically hide your empty smart lists, so you won’t see an empty Planned or Important list in the sidebar. Likewise, your smart lists can be hidden from the context menu. We’ve also continued to improve our performance and sync.

In recent months, To-Do has gained some interesting features. Microsoft has added this year are Hashtag support, recurring tasks on iOS to Shared Lists and a Star Rating system.
