Xbox Game Pass has enjoyed solid growth since its launch in May 2017. The service was announced in February of the same year as a subscription-based service. It gives gamers unlimited access to over 100 games for $9.99 per month. There are now 200 titles available for members, and Microsoft says the service is progressing as planned. In fact, Microsoft CFO Amy Hood called Xbox Game Pass an “early success”. Hood was speaking at the Deutsche Bank Technology Conference when she touted Game Pass: “But you’re even starting to see it in the early success of Game Pass, our game subscription. This is an opportunity for us to, take not only our content, but others content, package it and make sure that people are able to play the games they love, but do so in a predictive way.” Available titles include Xbox One games and those available from Xbox 360 Backward Compatibility. One of the most interesting aspects of Game Pass is it offers “continuous full-fidelity gameplay”. This essentially means gamers can play without having to worry about stream strength or quality. Sony’s PlayStation Now cannot offer this. Earlier this year, Microsoft dropped massive news for Xbox Game Pass. The company announced all its first-party exclusive games would arrive on the service on the day of launch.
Xbox All Access
Last month, we wrote about Microsoft’s Xbox All Access bundle. This new package is a monthly payment plan for customers to buy an Xbox One, Xbox Live Gold membership, and Xbox Game Pass subscription for a monthly price. Both the Xbox One S and Xbox One X will be available for the Xbox All Access bundle. For the latter, more powerful console, customers will pay $34.99 per month over 24 months. Xbox Live Gold and Xbox Game Pass will be part of the deal.
