As you may know, Chromium Edge is currently only available in preview. Testers can choose between three development branches:
Canary Channel: updated daily and considered the most unstable Dev Channel: Updated roughly on a weekly schedule and boasts more stable features Beta Channel: the third channel to launch is update more sporadically (around every 6 weeks) and is close to the finalized vision of Chromium Edge
Microsoft has not yet said when the full release of the new Edge experience will be officially launched. However, it is worth noting users can access and download the stable version already. Back in August a leak of the Stable channel found its way online.
What’s interesting about the leaked version is it comes from Microsoft’s own servers. Also of note, the stable installer replaces the Classic Edge application on Windows 10. This is further proof that Microsoft is planning to fully replace its old Edge app with the new Chromium-based version.

That said, many people would still prefer to wait for the official rollout from Microsoft. With a placement now on Chrome 78 (which launched on October 22), it seems Redmond is preparing the release. If you want to see the search result for yourself, enter the term “Microsoft Edge stable” into Google Search. Clicking the link will run the setup file and install the stable version on your PC. However, it seems this is not the finalized stable build as it carries the same number as the current beta update (78.0.276.19).
