What’s interesting about this release is it comes just nine days after Microsoft rolled out Patch Tuesday updates for March. This is when the company send out big cumulative releases to deal with known issues. These two new releases could mean the company has discovered a solvable issue since Patch Tuesday. The updates in question here are KB4016635 (OS build 14393.970) and KB4016637 (10240.17320). As usual, these cumulative releases focus on fixing issues or shoring up security. Here is what Microsoft says it new in KB4016635:
Addressed a known issue with KB4013429 that caused form display issues with CRM 2011 on Internet Explorer 11. Addressed the issue with KB4013429 that prevents users from updating apps from Windows Store with 0x80070216 error.
And here’s what’s new in KB4016637, or 10240.17320:
Addressed a known issue with KB4012606 that caused form display issues with CRM 2011 on Internet Explorer 11.
While these updates are not showing up on PCs yet, they are in bound. Both patches are already listed in the Windows 10 Update History page. By the way, there is still no fix for the zero-day vulnerabilities that we have discussed recently.
March Patch Tuesday
The March Patch Tuesday came after Microsoft had called off its cumulative releases for February. The company returned this month with Cumulative Update KB4013429 (OS build 14393.953). This was a significant launch as it is also likely to be the last Patch Tuesday before Microsoft releases the Windows 10 Creators Update.
