It seems Microsoft isn’t shy to invest more than GitHub’s $7.5 billion purchase price, and Pull Panda is looking like a strong choice. The tool was created just six months ago by founder and CEO Abi Noda, and quickly became popular in thousands of organizations. “Today, thousands of organizations around the world use our products to complement their daily development workflows,” said Noda in a statement. “Joining GitHub will allow our products to be fully integrated and offered to millions more developers around the world.”
Impending Feature Integrations
As a result of the acquisition, Pull Panda’s features will integrate directly with GitHub, bringing its functionality with no need for marketplace applications. Currently, the app provides:
Pull Reminders: Slack reminders and notifications Pull Analytics: Spot bottlenecks, reward teamwork with a leaderboard, and track team goals and results. Pull Assigner: Automated review assignment based on pre-determined groups.
Users can expect these features in GitHub soon. In the meantime, Pull Panda will continue to be available in its full form on the marketplace. Those with Paid Pull Panda subscriptions will have them converted to free ones today. Nada is joining the GitHub team to aid in the integration, as well as grow its features in the future. Neither Microsoft nor Pull Panda have disclosed the price of the acquisition, and it’s unlikely we’ll find out any time soon.
